Ezenkosi, as Cosmos are affectionately known to their faithful fans, will be hoping to use the clash against Amakhosi to redeem themselves from the 5-0 mauling at the hands of the Sea Robbers (Pirates) over the weekend.
Chiefs go into this clash on the back of two losses after losing to Platinum Stars 2-0 midweek, and to the Buccaneers by the same score line in the Nedbank Cup last 32 on 5 March.
In their previous encounter in the Absa Premiership, Ezenkosi and Amakhosi played to a goalless draw at Olen Park Stadium in October last year. If Amakhosi lose to Cosmos, the defending premiership champions might kiss their chances of a successful title defence goodbye. A loss may also jeopardise the position of Amakhosi coach Steve Komphela who has been under fire recently.
The Chiefs-Cosmos encounter is sure to be a thrilling one as pride is at stake for both teams, although for Chiefs it is almost a must-win to revive their ambition of defending their premiership title.
