Listen up pet owners

JOBURG - Woodrock Animal Rescue, a non-profit organisation, hosted a special talk on animal responsibility and medical needs at the Country Club Johannesburg on 23 February.

A talk which was led by Dr Denver Mudie of the Manorwood Veterinary Clinic focused on animal health in an attempt to break the cycle of only taking our pets’ health seriously in times of crises.

Spokesperson for Woodrock Animal Rescue, Estelle Meldau said, “Shockingly enough, only 22 percent of dogs in the leafy suburbs of Sandton visit their vets just for check-ups. Normally vets get to see animals only in time of crises.

“It is so important to care for your pets as if they were your children with regular eye and dental care. We were enlightened by the fact that healthy diets contribute to longevity.”

Mudie gave a talk about these issues stressing the importance of animal care.

Details: Estelle Meldau 076 155 4439.
