ALEXANDRA - Novo Nordisk and City of Joburg will be offering free diabetes screening and testing to the public in the first week of November.

The diabetes screening is part of the annual Novo Nordisk Cycle 4 Diabetes, which will take to the road again this year to raise awareness around the epidemic considered as one of the country’s most significant healthcare challenges.
The event, which is a partnership between The Department of Health, City of Joburg and Novo Nordisk will screen hundreds of South Africans around the country at identified sites along the route.
The City of Joburg is encouraging members of the public in Alexandra and Soweto to come out to three identified activation stations in Gauteng which will be open from 9am to 3pm on 4 November, with the Alexandra event at Alex Plaza and the Soweto one at Dobsonville Mall. There will be a second Soweto screening event at Maponya Mall on 5 November.
The three-day non-stop cycle relay runs from Johannesburg, through the Free State to KwaZulu-Natal then on to Mpumalanga and back to Johannesburg.
