Woman dragged and raped, suspect arrested
ALEXANDRA - An Alex man has been arrested is due to appear in court for raping his ex-girlfriend.
Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Manare Ramotshela said the incident happened on 1 March after the victim from 18th Avenue had visited her friend who she once lived with her on 16th Avenue.
The victim found the friend with her [victim] ex-boyfriend.
Warrant Officer Ramotshela said afterwards, the victim left for her home.
The ex-boyfriend followed to her home where he forcibly grabbed her causing her cellphone to fall. When she told him about the phone he said he didn’t care and dragged her to his place also on 16th Avenue where he beat her. He then dragged her further to Marlboro where he beat her again. Reasons for why the suspect dragged her to Marlboro are not known.
Afterwards, the suspect dragged her back to his place where he forced her to undress and raped her without a condom in a car.
After that, they went into his house where they slept. It is unknown why the victim was forced to sleep in the house or which conditions she experienced which led her to stay at the suspect’s house. Later, he took her back to her home where she reported the matter to her parents leading to his arrest.
