Teachers from schools in Alexandra will join their counterparts from North East Joburg at the annual Boston Teachers Forum at the Barnyard Theatre in Cresta shopping centre.
The forum takes place on 9 August and will see close to 200 teachers converging at the theatre to learn more about career opportunities available at the Boston City Campus and Business College’s Orange Grove Campus.
College principal Jerome van der Merwe said besides learning more about the courses on offer, teachers will also be taken through a step-by-step guide on how the bursaries that the college offers can be accessed by pupils.
“We have this special relationship with schools in Alexandra as part of our dream to build the skills base of the township and equip the youth with the necessary qualifications in order to face the challenging world of work with confidence,” Van der Merwe said, adding that more than R3 million in bursaries is offered every year by the college as a group.
