Man arrested for stabbing woman

ALEXANDRA - A man who stabbed and injured his woman neighbour has appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates Court following his arrest by Alexandra police.

A man who stabbed and injured his female neighbour has appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court following his arrest.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, the victim was watching TV with her husband and a female neighbour when her neighbour received a call from yet another neighbour informing her that her boyfriend was back in the house.

The woman who received the call immediately left to see her boyfriend. When the neighbour did not return, the victim decided to go and check on her. On the way, she met the woman who had called her neighbour to alert her about the arrival of her boyfriend.

The woman is said to have told the victim that her neighbour’s boyfriend wanted to stab her and her girlfriend. The victim then rushed into the house to check on her neighbour but found the boyfriend asleep.

She asked the boyfriend why he wanted to stab the two women and he never replied.

As she was leaving the house, the man grabbed a knife and stabbed her several times in her left arm. Bleeding profusely, the victim was rushed to Alex Clinic, where she was treated and discharged.

Maphakela said the suspect has since been arrested and appeared in court on a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
