Fresh off winning the prestigious Song of the Year at the 2024 KZN Namhla Awards, Muhluri ‘Viktor Matoto’ Mabaza is set to captivate audiences once again with a track that embodies his journey and the spirit of perseverance.
This talented Xitsonga hip hop and amapiano artist from Alexandra is set to release a single titled, Khandashisa, on October 15.

The phrase Khandashisa translates to ‘hothead’, a fitting title that encapsulates Matoto’s journey of resilience and grit in the competitive music landscape of Johannesburg.
Drawn from his experiences in the vibrant community of Alexandra, Matoto has rapidly established a distinctive sound that seamlessly blends traditional Xitsonga influences with contemporary hip-hop and amapiano rhythms.
With the release of Khandashisa, Matoto aims to uplift and inspire, sharing his narrative of overcoming obstacles and embracing one’s true self.
“Winning Song of the Year was an incredible honour, and it has fuelled my passion even more. With Khandashisa, I want to tell my story and remind everyone, especially the youth, that success isn’t just about talent, it’s about perseverance and authenticity,” Viktor said.
