Coaching sessions empower coaches and inspire future talent

The inaugural mini-netball coaching sessions have equipped more than 560 coaches and inspired 7 150 young players across South Africa.

The organisers have described the recent national coaching clinics of the PEP Mini-Netball Coaching Sessions held across five provinces as a resounding success.

This programme, which ran from May to August, has empowered, equipped and upskilled 567 mini-netball coaches across Limpopo, North-West, Gauteng, Northern Cape and Free State.

The store embarked on this initiative with a clear vision to enhance coaching techniques, deepen understanding of the game, develop leadership skills and elevate the overall standard of netball coaching at the grassroots level.

Pep celebrates the success of its inaugural mini-netball coaching sessions.

The sessions featured industry experts including Dumisani Chauke, mini-netball ambassador and former SPAR Proteas assistant coach Dr Elsje Jordaan, Sportisimo sports scientist, Golden Fireballs coach, and a motivational speaker and team culture coach Minnette Dempsey.

Pep chief executive for marketing Beyers van der Merwe said, “The impact and success of the coaching sessions in its first season is encouraging.

“When we announced the expansion of these sessions, our strategic intent was to continue empowering our local communities while nurturing netball talent at the grassroots level.”

Van der Merwe highlighted the pivotal role the coaching manuals, authored by Dr Jordaan, have played in the initiative.

“They will, from now onwards, serve as an ongoing resource to continuously enhance their coaching skills and nurture the talent of young netball players.”
