Life of a Struggle to soothe and uplift those in despair

Eugenious’ Life of a Struggle album is set to soothe and uplift those in despair with the struggles of life.

With only five months left before popular Alex crooner Eugene Selemela drops his debut album, the musician turned to hosting listening sessions to gauge the audience’s reaction to the product.

Avidly known in the music circles as EugeniousSA, Selemela hosted his first free listening session at Joe’s Butchery restaurant at the corner of 11th Avenue and Alfred Nzo Street on the evening of January 20.

Speaking to Alex News after the sessions, Eugenious said the sessions went well and the audience of more than 30 music lovers crammed into the restaurant to hear their star belt out some of the tunes in his album to which he said they particularly fell in love with tracks such as Bekezela and Pressure among others.

“The audience, which is a mixture of youth and those slightly over the youthful age, broke into dance and sang along with me and it was great to see and hear them join in the singing. I was elated and that told me the two years I took in cooking the album was not a waste of time.

The proposed cover of Eugenious’ album. His latest offering has been in the cooking pot for the past two years.

“The deduction I can make from the audience’s reaction was that they can’t wait any longer for the album, which will drop in early May, along with a schools’ tour that will be accompanied by presents for the scholars.”

Eugenious is in the process of roping in potential sponsors for his schools’ tour to supply the presents and also teach the learners how to abstain from drugs and other forms of substance abuse and sex, by putting their books before all these irritants that tend to take them off their learning course.

“Aptly titled Life of a Struggle, I hope and pray the album will be the success that I desire it to be and that it will inspire and motivate those who are struggling in life with some lyrics to soothe and uplift their souls.”
