Young Master opts for Mbombela with new coaching role

Alex coach Vincent 'Young Master' Rammoni has taken a new coaching role at Destiny College FC in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, after taking Dondol Stars to unprecedented heights in the Nedbank Cup.

Alexandra’s high-riding coach Vincent ‘Young Master’ Rammoni has taken on a new coaching role with another ABC Motsepe League outfit in Mbombela.

Speaking to Alex News, the Young Master, who has had three weeks at the helm of Destiny College FC, in the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League. The team has already played four friendlies and won all of them; scoring a total of 21 goals and only conceding two. Rammoni has signed a two-year contract.

He quit Dondol Stars soon after they were knocked out in the promotional play-offs for promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Young Master said he took on Destiny despite having had offers from three DStv Premiership sides, one of which beat his former Dondol Stars on penalties after he held them right up to the wire in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup.

“I am talking here of Orlando Pirates and also got offers from TS Galaxy, Sekhukhune United, Black Leopards and other sides such as Thelray, and La Masia,” he said.

The other offer came from fellow play-offs compatriot Msinga United, who caused an uproar and mayhem of fistfights and gunshots when they lost the play-offs.

“From all these offers, I settled for Destiny for the simple reason that their ambitions resonate well with those of mine. I did not want to go to already established teams but I wanted to work my way up with teams that I share a lot of values with such as the development of youngsters from grassroots football.

“I wanted to join a side that has ambitions to inspire the youth at the grassroots and grow up with them, and walk the journey of promotion as I had envisaged to do with Dondol Stars.”

Turning to one of his projects in Alexandra, Malandela Mighty Heroes, Rammoni said Malandela will always have a special place in his heart as ‘I literally grew up and developed my coaching skills in that team. I am what I am today because of Malandela and for that, I will always be grateful’.

The Young Master, who literally grew up and honed his coaching career before this Alex News scribe, has taken the role of head coach of Destiny, whose league games are set to kick off in September.
