Man steals sister’s kettle to buy drugs

A brother allegedly stole his sister’s kettle in order to buy drugs.

The sister and brother live in the same house in 9th Avenue, Alexandra. The sister said she went to bed after boiling some water to make tea, but when she woke up in the morning the kettle was missing.

She confronted her bother and demanded the kettle back but he denied any knowledge its whereabouts. The sister decided to open a case at the police and her brother was arrested. Questioned by the police, the brother is said to have admitted stealing the kettle as he wanted to buy himself a ‘fix’.

The brother will appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on a charge of theft.
