Alex’s Eugenious drops EP to heal troubled hearts

Alex schoolboy Eugene Selemela, better known by his stage name of Eugenious, has just dropped his solo EP ‘My Own Lane’ that he says is crafted to heal troubled hearts, just in time for the exams of the Matric Class of 2022.

Eugene Selemela, better known in music by his stage name of Eugenious, has just dropped his solo EP titled ‘My Own Lane’ which he hopes will heal the troubled hearts of many.

Speaking in an interview, the Far East Bank lad, who loves music more than anything else, dropped the EP on October 30 with only two things in mind – one to soothe the broken hearts of many and the other to deliver his first love, which is music.

“I love music so much, more than anything else, such that I quit football to do what I love best. After matric, I have ambitions of studying music in whatever form, coz it runs in the family blood,” said the Matric Class of 2022 learner at Realogile High School.

His mom, Pauline Selemela, was a distinguished dancer and musician in her heyday and danced and performed backup vocals for many musicians, one of which was Stompie Mavi of ‘Unonganga’ fame.

Eugenious’ elder brother, famously known by the stage name ‘Man Giza’, has been doing music for time immemorial and the third-born brother is still crawling in the big footsteps of mom, and brothers Man Giza’ and ‘Eugenious’.

Born in Alex, Eugenious (21), said the EP, produced by ‘Youngkiss Beatz’at his 3K Studios, talks pretty much about himself and the way “I grew up, the environment I live in, and I can assure my fans it’s going to heal your heart troubles as much as it soothes my own.”

“I encourage my fans to go and download it on YouTube and SoundCloud and support me as a black artist. It’s already on the lips of many of my peers at school, which is a clear indication of the powerful upliftment piece it is. Come January 3, the EP will be available in all stores.”

Alex News caught up with Eugenious fresh from an interview with Planet Radio at its VCM Studios. “After your interview [Alex News], I am going straight to my books to prepare for my next exam. If I am not doing music, I’m doing my books, and if it’s not my books, it’s music. That’s all,” Eugenious said.
