Run Alex junior girls make OR Tambo-Soncini Games
Run Alex Athletics Club junior girls hold their own ground in stiff competition in the qualifiers for the provincial games of the OR Tambo-Soncini Games that played over the weekend in Germiston.
Run Alex Athletics Club U14 and U15 boys and girls recently competed in the OR Tambo-Soncini games against other clubs from Johannesburg.
“We are delighted to announce that two of our U14 girls made the selection to the Johannesburg team. Simphiwe Thomas made the 100m team after a good showing in the 100m sprint with a time of 13.49 seconds. Oratile Nzima earned her place in the 200m team after a solid run of 29.95 seconds,” Run Alex’s Siphiwe Nkosi said.
The two competed under Central Gauteng Athletics at the Germiston Stadium on October 29 and 30.
