Drop-off your pre-loved clothing items for charity at Alex Plaza Store of Sky Washing Powder

It is estimated that more than 70% of children in South Africa grow up without decent clothing items as most caregivers and homes cannot afford them, and it is for this reason that Sky Washing Powder has launched a drop-off drive for clothing items for charity.

Sky Washing Powder is calling on residents of Alexandra to donate their pre-loved clothing items for the benefit of more 70% of children that often grow up without decent clothing items.

The detergent brand has established centres in Gauteng and the North West Province where such preloved items can be dropped for later collection and distribution to needy families and communities within the two provinces.

Under the ā€˜We Share, We Careā€™ programme drive for clothing which started running from September 12 until November 1 this year, the brand hopes to uplift identified organisations and homes in Gauteng and the North-West Province that will be recipients of these items.

The initiative calls on individuals to donate their beloved clothing items, which will then be handed over to selected homes and organisations at the end of the campaign in order to assist them survive during these difficult times, said Kamogelo Ndlovu, marketing coordinator for Sky Washing Powder.

Those interested in helping can drop off their used pre-loved items at the following locations:

  • Nigel Factory Store, Vorsterkroon
  • Tembisa Factory Store, Archers Crossing and Ivory Park
  • Alex Plaza Store, Alex Plaza
  • Soweto Factory Store, Protea North
  • Rustenburg Factory Store, Max Born Plaza.

ā€œAs part of our commitment to giving back in the areas we operate in, weā€™re doing our bit in empowering disadvantage communities and playing our part in contributing for a better tomorrow for all. We know that this campaign will ease the burden of the organisations we have identified and hopefully put a smile on the kidsā€™ faces,ā€ Ndlovu added.
