Eastbank High girls get a pep talk

ALEXANDRA - Finalists of Miss Veet South Africa received a 'noisy' welcome from pupils of Eastbank High School when they arrived for a pep talk with girls.

The girls ululated and screamed as the finalists walked into the Altrek Community Hall. They were in Alexandra to groom, motivate and discuss issues of beauty, sexuality and self-confidence with the girls of Eastbank High.

In their discussion, the finalists also touched on issues of education before boys, education before fame, and issues around the coming of age.

Veet ambassadors Melinda Bam and Cindy Nell, who also addressed the pupils stressed the need to study before joining the entertainment industry, as life in the industry was hectic and needed people who clearly understood the issues involved and could cope during trying times.

The grooming session for the girls was a precursor to the finals of Miss Veet South Africa, which will be held in Houghton on 7 March.
