Pageant bestows confidence on Skeen Primary learners

The purpose of this pageant was to empower learners and to groom them into confident future leaders, says Bernards.

Skeen Primary School hosted what organiser Marks Bernards, CEO of Black Rose Academy, described as a successful pageant of Mr and Miss Skeen Primary School 2022 recently.

“The purpose of this pageant was to empower learners and to groom them into confident future leaders. Moreover, we do not want our learners to recognise beauty on the outside, but mainly focus on enhancing their self-confidence, communication and leadership skills,” Bernards said.

The academy teamed up with the school to make sure that the event was successful. “We trained and accessed models during the practice through to the event and we also encourage other schools to host pageants to encourage young ones with extramural activities.

“We will also combine all primary schools winners and host Miss Alex Primary Schools to ensure unity and collaboration among the primary schools of Alexandra,” he said.

The event was also graced by the attendance of DJ Supta of Yfm as well as Miss Monash and Mr Johannesburg 2021.

Bernards said the academy will be visiting all primary schools in the township to work with them in terms of hosting primary school pageants to groom the learners, including hosting other programmes which can be beneficial to learners after school hours.
