Kingdom comes to the rescue of Angof

ALEXANDRA -– Baloyi promises to craft a relationship that will be mutually beneficial to both the church and Angof.

A good Samaritan in the form of Kingdom Community Church Alexandra has offered office space to the mother body of NGOs in the township from which to run the affairs of its fledgling charity institutions.

The church, under the leadership of Bishop Jackson Khosa, has taken the Alexandra Non-Governmental Organisation Foundation (Angof) under its wing and given its office space at its premises at the old Zenzeleni Primary School on the corner of Rev Sam Buti Street and 19th Avenue.

Speaking in an interview with Alex News, the interim president and founder of AngoKingdom Community Church Alexandra, Patrick Baloyi, along with his CEO Hilda Phalama, who also runs her own charity organisation, Uncedo Lwabantu, welcomed the gesture of the church and its bishop ‘to grant us temporary refuge on the church premises’.

Angof’s COO Reckson Makhuvha, who is also a senior leader of the church, hooked up Angof with the church and Khosa. The relationship was said to be mutually beneficial for Angof and the church.

“Makhuvha has done an excellent job of hooking us up with the church and Bishop Khosa and we are all eager to take this relationship to another level and allow it to blossom and bear fruits that will benefit not just Angof but the church as well as its members,” Baloyi said.

Already, Baloyi said, Angof had plans to refurbish the new offices and this would also include the church building in its entirety.

Khosa has allowed Angof, which has more than 200 NGO organisations on its books, to take up occupancy of the offices for free for the coming three months after which a memorandum of understanding would be signed between both parties.

“We also have ambitious plans to host a mother of all fundraising events which will involve one of our 10 committees, Creatives and Arts Committee, that will showcase its skills and talent for all and sundry in the township in partnership with Alex Mall,” Phalama said.

“The church too stands to benefit from the fundraising event and all other donations which may flow our way. This will truly be a mutually beneficial relationship for both parties,” Baloyi added.
