Seven suspects rob butchery of R59 000 in Wynberg

WYNBERG – The complainant has video footage of the incident and will be able to identify the suspect that took him to the office as he had no mask on. 

Police are looking for seven suspects who are alleged to have been responsible for robbing a butchery in Wynberg of R59 000 in cash on January 25.

According to Alexandra police spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the complainant said at about 18:45, a man entered the butchery and approached him. The suspect was wearing blue overalls.

“The suspect then pointed a firearm at the complainant and ordered him to go into the office. The suspect then followed the complainant into the office where he searched everywhere and found cash in one of the drawers. When he was done, he took the complainant back into the shop where six more suspects were busy taking money from the cash register.”

Mbatha added that the complainant said after the robbery, the suspects ran out and jumped into a white Toyota Quantum with an unknown registration number.

The complainant has video footage of the incident and will be able to identify the suspect that took him to the office as he had no mask on.
