Community urged to bring their dogs for a bath scrub

ALEXANDRA – The first 10 dogs to be bathed will receive mini packages of dog food.

Hlengiwe Ngubane, a dog and cat groomer, has invited Alexandra residents to bring their dogs to a dog wash day on September 19 at 12 Avenue number 27, Alexandra.

Starting at 10:00, the dogs will be bathed and the first 10 dog owners will receive mini packages of dog food. For those who want to bring their dogs, Ngubane said they could reserve their spot by calling her before September 16 and paying only R100.

She added that the money raised from the day would go to one of Alex’s non-profit organisations but she could not disclose the name of the organisation since it would be a surprise.

“In the midst of the current pandemic of Covid-19, we were taught how significant cleanliness is to our lives, so it is equally important to keep our dogs clean as well,” Ngubane said.

She added that she would wash the dogs because she was a professional dog groomer and was also a student at Ethology Academy studying animal behaviour.

“It is not just a regular wash since we will be cleaning the dogs’ teeth, nails, and ears during the wash. Towels should also be brought by community members for their dogs after they have been bathed.”
