A donation of essential goods to victims of fire

ALEXANDRA – The donations to the victims included blankets and groceries.

Fire victims whose homes were destroyed in a fire in 18th Avenue, Alexandra were given basic necessities by Rays of Hope NPO, Gauteng North Central Funeral and Alex philanthropist Linda Twala.

Founder of the funeral company Lebogang Mogorosi said, “I made the donations to the families whose homes were burned [down] on August 14.”

“Our business is based in Alex and it is through our community that it keeps growing every day. Donating to the needy is our way of saying thank you for the love and support we receive.”

Besides donating to the 18th Avenue fire victims, Rays of Hope also donated to residents of 2nd and 14th avenues whose houses were destroyed by fires.

“As Rays of Hope, we were contacted by Lucia Maloka, a representative of COJ Disaster Management, explaining that three sites had been destroyed by fire and that a number of families were in desperate need of food,” said Bertha Maringi of Rays of Hope.

“The plight of children left hungry after the fires caused us to respond, even on a public holiday as it was National Women’s Day.”
