New drama series in Alex aimed to expose talent

ALEXANDRA – The series revolves around betrayal, love, criminal behavior, and family secrets.

Nkanyiso Cell Thusi (19) is the writer and director of Kwavum’ Inhliziyo, a new series set to be shot in Alexandra and aimed at exposing talented people in the township and creating job opportunities.

The drama series will be filmed in August and it will be uploaded on Thusi’s YouTube channel, Umusa media.

The series revolves around betrayal, love, intrigue, obsession, criminal behaviour and family secrets. Thusi will play the lead role of a gangster named Plus who spends most of his time doing criminal activities with his friend Minus.

However, the only obstacle he faces right now is funding for the production. Thusi said, “I seriously need sponsors or even donations from the Alex community to help make this dream a reality. Lack of funding has kept it in the shadows for so long.”

A few familiar faces will appear in the series but they could not be named yet.

Speaking to Alex News, Thusi said he was working with Dumisane Gcaba who would co-direct this pilot drama series.
“There are many people who will love and enjoy the series, including people with a good sense of humour and people who have been hurt or betrayed by loved ones,” added Thusi.

He said his love for his family had motivated him to write the series. “My life grew more intense as I grew anxious to make it in life.

“The need to maintain a sense of unity in my family made me decide to write this play and give out messages of love and unity to families.”
