Alex duo speaks axed Rhythm City and new music
ALEXANDRA – We will now work with anyone who wishes to work with us because when Rhythm City ends our jobs also ends, says Kwaito duo.
With e.tv’s series Rhythm City coming to an end in July, Alex’s dynamic duo, In4ma who have been part of the production team of the series for nearly seven years are moving on.
In4ma (pronounced informer) consists of musicians Thembinkosi Masango (35) and Ntokozo Mdlalose (34) who also offer their services as lighting operators. Speaking to Alex News the duo said they will now do freelance work in the lighting business.
“We will now work with anyone who wishes to work with us because when Rhythm City ends our jobs also end although we wish that the next series coming to replace Rhythm City could hire us,” Masango said.
The duo has been in the entertainment industry rocking the microphone for 13 years after being influenced by kwaito artists such as the late Pro Kid, the late Mandoza, and Bonginkosi ‘Zola’ Dlamini.
Their music can be described as high-pitched piano melodies, Kwaito basslines and low tempo 90’s South African house rhythms.
They have worked with prominent artists such as the John Vuli Gate hit maker, Ntokozo Soko better known as Ntosh Gazi and Rhythm City star Ishmauel Songo.
Mdlalose said they work as a team to be recognised as one. “One big name on the billboards is great, but sometimes two superstar voices come together in an inspired pairing that is truly special,” Mdlalose said.
They also have their own entertainment company, Dlala Lapho Productions and are currently promoting their latest hit single, Sigijimisa Imali on major music platforms such as Soundcloud, Spotity, and their website www.in4fresh.co.za
