Multi-talented Alex singer does music for his children’s future

ALEXANDRA – Reymond Ditsie Machetela is a rolling stone that does music for the sake of his kids.

He has lived some lives. At 34, he’s dabbled in marriage, he is a prophet, he sells canned chicken feet, and he is also a singer-songwriter.

Machetela has debuted his new EP titled Ganamo. Born in Tzaneen and moved to Alexandra in 2004 looking for greener pastures, the said father of three said, “I moved to Alex in search of a better life, a new place that offers new opportunities.”

Speaking to Alex News, Machetela said he also wants to be known as an artist who comes from nothing to something like his fellow celebrity town mates King Monada, Dr. Tumi, Candy Tsa Mandebele, Sho Madjozi, and the Jerusalema song hitmaker, Master KG.

“When Peta Teanet died, Tzaneen had no one representing it until we had Ska bora moreki by King Monada then, later on, came the likes of Master KG and Makhadzi.”

He describes Alexandra as a place where one with discipline can prosper. “Many say Alex is full of crime, yes crime here is high but this is the centre of everything if you work hard and smart you will be recognised.”

Machetela said if he was not doing music he would be doing his prophet work or pushing his canned chicken feet business as it needs promotion.

He says his song Ewallet from his EP is doing well and people are enjoying it as it reflects modern relationships.

He describes himself as a rolling stone, with no ties to any record label or any place.

“I am a person who changes his habitation, business, or pursuits with great frequency, I lead a wandering and unsettled life so that my kids cannot grow up in poverty.
