Detectives are investigating a carjacking case that took place in Alexandra on 22 April at about 8.40pm.
Alexandra Police Station’s spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the complainant reported that he was driving along Vincent Tshabalala Street in Alexandra. When he stopped at a red robot, he was confronted by three unknown suspects with firearms.

“He was accosted by the suspects and forced into the back of his vehicle and they drove away with him. While he was inside the vehicle, he was forced to drink an unknown concoction that made him unconscious,” explained Mbatha.
According to Mbatha, the victim said that when he regained consciousness late at night, he was near Edenvale without his vehicle and cell phone.

“He walked home without any injuries. The vehicle has a tracking device installed but has not been recovered,” said Mbatha.
The estimated value of the vehicle is around R60 000 and the cell phone is valued at about R1 200.
