Alex charity worker spreads her wings to other communities
ALEXANDRA – I targeted those communities as there is a crying need for help and food relief workers do business in those areas, says Palesa Letsoalo.
An Alex food relief worker is now doing it for other communities as well outside her township and thereby spreading her wings in communities such as Thembisa in Ekurhuleni and Soshanguve in Pretoria.
Palesa Letsoalo (32), born in Alexandra but now lives in nearby Bramley, founder of We Care, a food relief NPO she started in order to carry on the legacy of her mother and granny, both of whom used to care for other children and elderly people in the home that she grew up in, recently delivered food parcels in Thembisa and Soshanguve.

On 4 March, Letsoalo delivered food parcels for 20 people in Alexandra, five people in Thembisa’s Emoyeni and Mqantsa sections and 40 people in Soshanguve, which amounted to 65 beneficiaries in the three communities in Gauteng.
Soon after the article appeared in Alex News, [Week ending 12 February 2021], Letsoalo said her phone never stopped ringing from people that read it and wanted food relief parcels. In Soshanguve, Letsoalo said she has regular gogos that she delivers to.
“I targeted those communities as they called and asked for help since there’s no one working in those areas and the communities are in desperate need of assistance.”
Lestoalo thanked the donors of her food parcels, The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints.
“May God the Almighty continue to bless the church to grow bigger and bigger.”
