10-year-old is shot after man knocks over another child in Alex
ALEX – The complainant and the 10-year- old child were taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
Police detectives are investigating an attempted murder case that took place in Alexandra, Far East Bank on 28 November at about 5.30pm.
According to Alex police spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the complainant alleged that he was sitting outside drinking on the side of the street when he saw a white Mazda 323 knock over a child.

“He stood up and told the driver of the said car to take that child to the clinic. The driver took the child inside his car and drove away. After a few minutes, the same car came back reversing.

“The driver came to him and pointed a firearm at him and when he asked him what was the problem, the driver of the car insulted him and started to fire some shots towards him. He ran away but the suspect kept on shooting at him.”
Mbatha added that the complainant was shot in his right leg. There was also another child that was running in front of the complainant that also got shot.

The complainant and the 10-year-old child were taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
The suspect has not been arrested as he is unknown. A docket was opened for further investigation.
