Manyama is hope for Alex in Goal of the Season contenders

Football supporters can now vote and choose their outstanding goal to be crowned Goal of the Season.

Alexandra’s own star footballer Lebogang Manyama of Kaizer Chiefs will be among six other contenders for the former Absa Premiership Goal of the Season.

This comes as voting opens for football supporters to choose the most outstanding goal for the 2019/20 Absa Premiership Goal of the Season which will be bestowed on the winner at the prestigious annual Premier Soccer League Awards.

The league has announced the opening of voting which is done through the league’s website – www.PSL.co.za – and voting will last until midnight on 15 October.
The top seven goals from the 2019/20 season, as voted by the fans, are now live on the website and soccer lovers and supporters can view them and make their choice as to which one they think warrants to be the Goal of the Season.

The goal that receives the highest number of votes will be crowned the winner of the Goal of the Season and will be announced at the awards ceremony which will be held on a date still yet to be decided. Voters will be limited to only one vote a day.

Nominees for the 2019/20 Absa Premiership Goal of the Season award are:

  • August 2019: Hlompho Kekana of Mamelodi Sundowns
  • September/October 2019: Thabo Nodada of Cape Town City
  • November 2019: Dumisani Zuma of Kaizer Chiefs
  • December 2019: Samir Nurkovic of Kaizer Chiefs
  • January 2020: Gabadinho Mhango of Orlando Pirates
  • February 2020: Lebogang Manyama of Kaizer Chiefs
  • August/September 2020: Thabiso Kutumela of Maritzburg United.
