WATCH: Murder case of 18-year-old learner postponed

ALEXANDRA – The murder case of Jabulile Nkosi has since been postponed to 22 October.

The Alexandra Magistrate’s Court has postponed the murder case of Eastbank High School learner, Jabulile Nkosi to 22 October for further investigation and to grant the accused time to obtain legal representation.

The 18-year-old Nkosi was murdered on 6 September at around 2am in East Bank towards Vasco Da Gama Street next to Lion Crescent. The accused, a 25-year-old taxi driver, has been charged with murder and will remain in police custody.

The Alex News’ reporter Nduduzo Nxumalo has been at the court since this morning, 18 September, when he learnt about the postponement of the case.

Members of the ANC women’s league and the EFF gathered outside the court, singing and chanting for justice.

The members have also been joined by learners from various school in Alexandra. The angry learners have blockaded streets with burning tyres and have thrown stones at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court.
