45-year-old woman reports that she was raped and robbed

ALEXANDRA – Detectives went to the scene of the crime to investigate and informed the local criminal record centre (LCRC) and family violence, child protection and sexual offences (FCS) unit.

Police are investigating a house robbery and rape case that was reported by a 45-year-old woman at the Alexandra Police Station on Wednesday, 29 July.

According to the station spokesperson, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the complainant said she was sleeping when an unknown man woke her up and pointed a firearm at her.

“The unknown male allegedly gained entry into the house by forcefully opening the main burglar door. The complainant reported that the suspect then whipped her with a pistol on her forehead. She was then tied up and raped with a condom,” explained Mbatha.

Mbatha said the suspect left with a black cell phone, three pairs of sneakers, a computer screen, a wallet with bank cards and R250 in cash. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at R11 500.

“The victim did not see the suspect as it was dark but cases of house robbery and rape were opened and an investigation is under way,” said Mbatha.
