Covid-19: Gauteng records 1 910 cases, 1 293 recoveries and 18 deaths
A total of 63 people are currently hospitalised in private and public facilities with the virus.
Gauteng had reported 1 910 cases of Covid-19 as of 9 May with 1 293 recoveries and 18 deaths.
A total of 63 people are currently hospitalised in private and public facilities with the virus.
According to a statement by the Gauteng Department of Health, out of a total of 9 440 contacts traced (these are individuals who were in contact with people who tested positive for Covid-19), 7 651 people have completed the 14-day monitoring period with no symptoms reported. They have now been de-isolated.
The breakdown per district is as follows:
- Johannesburg: 1 057 cases, 851 recoveries
- Ekurhuleni: 426 cases, 291 recoveries
- Tshwane: 283 cases, 109 recoveries
- Sedibeng: 22 cases, 8 recoveries
- West Rand: 56 cases, 34 recoveries
- Unallocated: 66 cases
