Alexandra Police Station is investigating the alleged robbery and rape of a 60-year-old victim by a known suspect and an accomplice.
According to station spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, the incident occurred at about 11am on 23 April at the victim’s 11th Avenue home and in the presence of her husband.
Mbatha said the victim heard a motor vehicle park in front of the house and the suspects called a name. “Immediately after, the suspects forced themselves into the house and one of them manhandled the victim. In the process, he poked her private parts with his fingers and she screamed promoting the husband to come out of a toilet.
“The accomplice threatened the husband with a gun and the two searched the house, took the victim’s SASSA card and they drove away.”
