Staff withdrawn from ATM

ALEXANDRA – Public rescue screaming, pepper-sprayed employees from Atm.

Three Capitec Bank employees were rescued by members of the public after they shouted for help from inside an ATM cubicle at Freedom Square.

Alex Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatji said the three reportedly accidentally locked themselves in the outside ATM at about midday on 28 January while clearing money.

It seems that pepper spray was activated in the cubicle. “Their colleagues and passersby heard their screams for help and broke a wall to free them, “Malatji said. They were taken to a hospital for medical attention. Their condition was unknown at the time of reporting.
