A shebeen owner is expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court soon for the alleged rape of a female patron in his bedroom.
Alex Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatji said the victim was drinking at the outlet at about 7pm on 27 October when she felt a headache and asked to lie down. The accused is said to have offered her his bedroom.
Later, the victim woke up to find herself and the accused next to each other and naked on the bed with him wearing a condom. When she asked what he had done to her, the accused seemingly cried and asked to explain. The angry victim got dressed and left the place to report the incident at the police station.
An arrest was pending at the time of reporting.
