Murder parolee steals from brother

ALEXANDRA – Released murderer targets brother

A man on parole for murder was remanded in custody in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court pending further investigation for theft from his brother.

The two lived in separate rooms in the same yard in Alexandra. Thabo Khumalo will reappear in court on 3 July for the incident which occurred between 30 April and 1 May when his brother was away at work. The brother left his room locked and on his return, found the door broken and the place ransacked. A television set and three pairs of shoes were missing.

A witness informed the victim of the suspect on his return from work and the matter was reported at the Alexandra Police Station. Initially, Khumalo denied involvement to the investigating officers but later admitted to it.

He apologised to his brother, handed back the stolen items and was arrested.
