The war of words rages on between Alexandra’s top strikers

ALEXANDRA – Only time will tell the winner of the ANLFA Promotional League's Golden Boot Award.

The fierce rivalry between Alexandra’s top strikers in the Promotional League still rages on.

Last week, Alex News reported on yet another challenge in the journey to becoming the township’s top striker when Nkosingiphile Nzimande of Black Poison, who currently leads the stakes with 24 goals from 20 matches issued another challenge to his rival, Paul Maluleke of Rangers.

Nzimande wondered whether his rival was still in the race. Maluleke has 21 goals to his credit and with six games to go, the competition between the two ace strikers is far from over.

Following Nzimande’s challenge, Maluleke responded and told Alex News the ‘war’ was far from over. “I still accept his challenge, but even if I don’t score the three goals today [12 May] to catch up with him, I still have six games to do so.”

Maluleke was speaking before his team’s 20th match of the season and said if the Gods were smiling on him, he could bang in the three outstanding goals to catch up with Nzimande. “I also strongly believe that I have the chance to overcome my rival,” Maluleke said.

However, Nzimande predicted that he was going to emerge as the top striker come end of the season.

But whether it’s Maluleke or Nzimande for the Golden Boot Award, the remaining six matches will give us the answer.

Who do you think will ultimately be crowned Alexandra’s top striker for the ANLFA Promotional League between Paul Maluleke and Nkosingiphile Nzimande? Tell us your views @AlexNewsZA
