Lovers in robber rap

ALEXANDRA – Woman and lover lead robbers to her employer's home.

 

Two lovers charged with robbery aggravating were remanded in custody after abandoning their bail application in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.

Ntando Dube (28) and girlfriend Christina Moyo (46) of River Park were arrested for the incident which occurred on 15 November at her employer’s Sandton home where she works part-time. Some of the stolen items were found at their home.

Dube admitted to ferrying three suspects – who are at large – to the home at 9pm and confessed to receiving R22 000 and some jewellery from the robbers.

The girlfriend is said to have either been with him or given them directions to the home. They found the victims having dinner and at gunpoint point, tied them up, put them in separate rooms and ransacked the place. They took jewellery, laptops, an iPhone, a Rolex watch and forex all worth R700 000.

CCTV footage showed Dube’s vehicle at the crime scene and he claimed to have left them (perpetrators) there but later added that he helped them carry a bag with jewellery into the vehicle. Their case was postponed to 13 December.
