Speaking to scores of his party supporters who attended the launch, Msimanga lambasted the ANC-led government for its failures in dealing with issues of crime and the high unemployment rate in the country. He promised that his team will focus and give priority to five areas that include fighting corruption, fixing the police force, the creation of real jobs, securing the country’s borders and speed up service delivery.

“The ANC has lost direction on how to take this country forward. What they are able to do best is to march to themselves. To tackle problems facing our province and achieve these five goals I have selected a team that is fit for the purpose and will assist me in championing this change,” he said.

These members of the DA’s team are as follows:

  • John Moodey to tackle the issue of E-tolls and public transport
  • Jack Bloom to fight for the fair access to Healthcare
  • Refiloe Nt’sekhe will oversee basic services delivery and infrastructure
  • Bongani Baloyi to grow the economy, stimulate small businesses and entrepreneurship
  • Ina Cilliers will deal with agriculture and food security issues

  • Khume Ramulifho will ensure fair access to jobs, youth opportunities and education
  • Kingsol Chabalala will eradicate corruption and
  • Stefanie Ueckermann will champion women and children’s rights.

Msimanga told his party members and supporters to rally behind the team as they will be visiting different communities all over the province. “Together with this team I want to create a change that will have a positive impact on the lives of our people,” Msimanga concluded.
