PSL hands out major awards for ‘Major’, Hunt and Castro

JOBURG - Lehlohonolo Majoro, Gavin Hunt, both of Bidvest Wits, and Kaizer Chiefs marksman Leonardo Castro receive Absa Premiership awards.

 

Bidvest Wits player Lehlohonolo Majoro and coach Gavin Hunt have been named as the Absa Premiership Player and Coach of the Month respectively for February.

Hunt returned to the podium for the monthly recognition awards at the Premier Soccer League offices in Parktown for the first time in the 2017/18 season, after guiding his side to a string of impressive outings with a major contribution from ‘Major’, as Majoro is commonly known in football circles.

Colombian Leonardo Castro’s debut goal for Kaizer Chiefs has won him the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month award for January for his strike in Amakhosi’s 2–1 win over Baroka FC.

Castro’s well-taken half-volley on the edge of the 18-yard area, helped Chiefs clinch a come-from-behind victory against their hoodoo opponents at the new Peter Mokaba stadium on 21 January.
