A man (32) has been given a suspended sentence after being found guilty of housebreaking with intent to steal.
Alexandra Magistrates’ Court slapped the accused with a seven-year sentence, wholly suspended for five years on condition that he is not found guilty of the same crime.
The accused committed the crime on 3 February and was arrested on the same day at the residence which he had broken into. On his arrest, he was found in possession of a bag full of clothes, a USB, a cellphone and R300 cash.
