Sars services available at Motswedi Centre

ALEXANDRA – Residents seeking to use services of the South African Revenue Service can now do so at Galxcoc's Motswedi Centre every Wednesday.

The Greater Alexandra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Galxcoc) has opened its doors to the South African Revenue Service (Sars) to offer services to residents of the community and surrounding areas.

Sars, which used to run its services to citizens of the community every Tuesday at the San Kopano Community Centre and every second Wednesday Galxcoc’s Motswedi Centre, will now be available to assist people on a weekly basis at Galxcoc.

Operations manager, Jaunene Nell, said they could not adequately render services to people because of network problems.

“Our internet was very slow at San Kopano, and we had to use the free Wi-Fi provided there. Even with that, our system could not connect to the network,” Nell said.

She said rendering services to people took long and not everyone who was in queues could be helped on the day they were there.

“We assist citizens with services that are offered at the (Sars) branches. We are not limited.”

Managing director for Galxcoc, Mxolisi Mngomezulu, welcomed the move, saying as a local business chamber, they were community oriented and always looking for ways to help people of the community.

“One of the critical things we seek to do, is to formalise local businesses and part of that is to bring compliance closer to them,” Mngomezulu said.

People who want to use the services offered by Sars can visit the Galxcoc offices at the Motswedi Centre in Wynberg every Wednesday from 8.30 am until 2 pm.

Details: Galxcoc: 011 440 7887.
