Motorists can easily pay traffic fine payments during the festive season

JOHANNESBURG – FNB's solution has the added benefit of real-time payment of traffic fines.

Motorists are expected to ramp up the payment of their outstanding traffic fines before travelling to various parts of the country over the festive season.

This according to Shadrack Palmer, chief commercial officer at FNB Connect in a statement issued on 11 December.

According to FNB Connect, the volume of payments through FNB’s Traffic Fine Payment Solution via FNB’s digital platforms has shown a significant rise over the festive season.

Palmer said traffic fine payments through FNB have increased by 68 per cent from 2016 to this year, about 14 per cent of payments are made via the FNB App introduced in March, and 77 per cent through online banking and 9 per cent at ATMs.

“The increased use of digital platforms to pay traffic fines can be attributed to the fact that consumers want services at their fingertips, 24/7,” said Palmer.

“Being able to do most errands conveniently in the comfort of your home does not only save time, it’s also a saving if you consider associated travel costs.”
