Alex police have confirmed that no shooting took place between four men and police officers on Vincent Tshabalala Road as reported on 14 November.
Alex police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the men were driving in a silver BMW on the wrong side of the road when police stopped them.
“As far as I know, no shooting took place, the suspects were taken in for questioning,” Kodisang said.
The men could face charges of reckless driving and negligence, he added, but could not confirm if they were detained.
