Worrisome crime

Alex police attended to 128 cases combining 59 arrests, 22 reported serious crimes and 47 other crimes during the week ending 29 October.

Police spokesperson, Captain Allie said arrested suspects were:

• 2 for rape
• 2 for attempted murder
• 8 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
• 7 for common assault
• 1 for robbery aggravating
• 1 for residential burglary
• 1 for business robbery
• 2 for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle and property
• 4 for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition
• 3 for shoplifting
• 4 for malicious damage to property
• 24 for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The reported priority crimes were:

• 1 for rape
• 3 for theft from a motor vehicle
• 3 for residential burglary
• 2 for business burglary
• 1 for business robbery
• 9 for robbery with a firearm
• 3 for motor vehicle hijacking

Other reported crimes were:

• 2 for attempted murder
• 5 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
• 16 for common assault
• 2 for robbery with a weapon other than a firearm
• 1 for common robbery
• 4 for theft from a motor vehicle
• 10 for general theft
• 7 for malicious damage to property.
