Man dies after alleged attack – Alex police officers seek family members

ALEXANDRA – Police seek relatives of a man who was alleged stabbed to death.

 

Police are appealing to community members for assistance in locating relatives of a man who died at Edenvale Hospital on 28 May after he was stabbed in the neck in Alex.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said, “Before he died, the man in his mid twenties or early thirties, told hospital authorities and a female companion that his name was Nkanyiso Dladla.”

The companion said she met the deceased at night on 27 May at a tavern situated on 4th Avenue. As they were walking back to the deceased’s residence, four unknown men approached them.

“The suspects allegedly attacked the man and stole his cellphone and bank cards. Fortunately the woman was left unharmed. After the suspects left the man lying on the ground, the companion sought help.”

An ambulance arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
