2 men bust in Eastbank for possession of police-issue items

Two men suspected of theft and found in possession of various police-issue items were arrested with the public’s help and will appear in court soon.

Alex Police Station spokesperson, Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said residents chased and apprehended the suspects at 4.40am on 4 March in Eastbank after they tried to escape from a residence they had allegedly broken into.

A crowbar the suspects allegedly used to break in was found outside the residence.

The suspects were found with a bag containing two blue police shirts, one with a police badge and ‘Madiga’ nametag, police trousers, police barrette, paper spray, two pairs of blue jeans, and Puma and Nike takkies.

An investigation is underway.
