Murderer charged for another case of rape

A suspect alleged to have kidnapped, raped, intimidated and threatened to assault his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend was denied bail by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court and will reappear in court after further investigation.

The 36-year-old suspect was paroled after serving part of a 20-year sentence for the murder of another girlfriend in 1998.

In the latest case, he allegedly kidnapped and locked the victim up for four days at his 7th Avenue residence in Alex. The suspect allegedly raped the 22-year-old repeatedly and threatened to kill her if she screamed or attempted to escape.

When the suspect left his residence, the victim used his cellphone, which he had left behind, to contact her parents.

Alex police officers were called to the scene and arrested the suspect.
