Woman burgles, steals from ex-lover’s place of residence

ALEXANDRA – Woman refuses money, then steals ex-boyfriend's clothes.

A woman is under investigation by Alex police for allegedly breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s room.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the victim had been expecting the suspect to collect an undisclosed amount of money from him at midday on 20 January. However, when she arrived, he had gone to the Pan Africa Mall, leaving the money with a neighbour.

When the neighbour handed her the money she allegedly refused to accept it, saying it was too little. The neighbour called the victim and told him of her refusal. The neighbour allowed the victim to speak with the woman and despite the victim reassuring her that she could collect the extra money later, the suspect was allegedly seen by the neighbour breaking into the victim’s room. She allegedly stole a bag full of clothes, a pair of takkies and the victim’s identity document before she left. No arrest was reported.
