Head of the school Deanne King congratulated all the matric pupils for the exceptional results. King said, “This year’s results show the range, abilities and talents of your remarkable group. Your class has achieved a 100% Bachelor Degree Pass which is an indication of the work ethic and endeavour that is so much a part of our school’s tradition.”
King added, “St Mary’s subject averages attest to, not only the excellence of your group but also the depth of ability within your class. The school celebrates your 351 distinctions.”
Additionally the school had four pupils who earned the IEB Commendable achievement award who earned results within the top 5% of pupils in five subjects and scored at 80% for Life Orientation.
The school’s top achiever was Julia Huysamer who earned an impressive nine distinctions while placing a in the top 1% among all IEB pupils in English, Afrikaans and Visuals Arts.
Pupils who earned eight distinctions were Simone Batchelor whiling earning a spot in top 1% in Afrikaans, Christine Hill, Sophia Mayet who also was in the top 1% in Life Sciences, Courtney Mocke, Cheyenne Padiyachy who boths earned spots in the top 1% in English and Genevieve Shahim.
The school’s pupils who achieved seven distinctions were 7 distinctions Megan de Lange, Jenna Duffy, Georgina Kieser, Liezl Kritzinger, Ntshembho Mtsetwene, Caitlyn Nielsen, Natasha Rajak, Frances van der Walt and Francesca Vercellotti.
