Sidlal’idiski thrown a lifeline

ALEXANDRA – Sidlal'idiski Sports Academy at MC Weiler Primary School is thrown a lifeline.

The Sidlal’idiski Sports Academy of the late Mogomotsi Ramoabi ‘Doctor’ Mabena at MC Weiler Primary School has been thrown a lifeline by The Sports Trust.

Speaking at the memorial service for Doctor at the East Bank Hall, project manager at the trust, Obakeng Oganne said the trust would donate a sports kit to the academy in memory of the late co-founder.

“We will also continue to support the project, even in the absence of Doctor,” Oganne said.

Doctor’s partner, Pule Tladi said, “You’re also free to come knocking on our door whenever you need assistance. I know you may not be as aggressive as Doctor but that should not put you off from approaching us when times are hard,” said Tladi.

Oganne said The Sports Trust owes it to Doctor to ensure that his dream does not come crumbling down now that he was no more.

“Doctor or no Doctor, his legacy and dream must live on. We owe it to these children who are now football orphans. Doctor was not only their coach and mentor, he was their father away from home and he played those three roles very well,” Oganne said.
