Man assaults ex-girlfriend for bad-mouthing him

ALEXANDRA – Dumped boyfriend arrested for assaulting ex-girlfriend.

Alex police arrested a suspect for an alleged assault and malicious damage to his ex-girlfriend’s property.

According to Alex police spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang, the suspect allegedly knocked on the door of the 37-year-old victim’s Tsutsumani home at about 8pm on 18 September. When she realised it was him, she tried to close and lock the door to keep him from entering as she was scared he would abuse her. However, he forced his way in and began assaulting her.

He then picked up her television set and computer and smashed them on the floor while accusing her of bad-mouthing him with her current boyfriend.

The estimated cost of the damaged property was R2 000. It wasn’t specified if the victim sought medical treatment for the assault and whether the suspect would appear in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
